Why do I need a My ID Card?
Other forms of ID such as passports and driving licences are valuable items that are costly to replace if they are lost on a night out, plus they can also have timely application processes. It could be dangerous should these type of IDs fall into the wrong hands, such as criminals e.g. identity theft.
If you were to lose your My ID Card, a replacement application would cost you just £15, whereas a new passport can cost around £80.
Perhaps you don’t have a passport or driving licence and you are worried that you won’t be able to get into venues or buy alcohol and cigarettes.
If you need to prove that you are over 18, for example to purchase alcohol, enter age restricted establishments such as pubs, bars and nightclubs or get a tattoo, then My ID Card is for you. My ID Card also offers cards for people who need to prove that they are over or under 16 years old.
Who can be my Verifier?

We will need to contact your Verifier on their UK landline telephone number at their place of work.
